Couples organising an intimate wedding this year are spoilt for choice for beautiful venues in Scotland.

From period mansions to waterside locations and turreted castles, Cottages & Castles, Scotland’s longest established holiday lets agency, offers stunning settings for an intimate wedding in Scotland.

Jemima Kirkwood, social media manager of Cottages & Castles, said: “Scotland is home to fairy-tale castles and country homes that offer couples an exceptional place to celebrate their special day. Most people will be aware of the big hotels, but couples are now looking for somewhere a little bit different. There are many hidden gems perfect for those looking for a smaller venue, with all the charm of a Scottish castle, sporting lodge or Georgian house.Wedding venues in Scotland

“Smaller privately-owned country houses offer two advantages. Firstly, they allow couples to get involved in every aspect of their big day, from creating the menu using locally sourced premium food and drink, to native flowers for the bouquets and table arrangements, resulting in a truly bespoke wedding. Secondly, they offer complete privacy and seclusion – no-one else will be sharing the venue with you and it is truly your castle for the day.”
