Dublin is a hugely popular hen weekend location. The city boasts bars and pubs with unlimited live music and delicious drinks, as well as gorgeous Irish men with the world’s best accent… Stag and hen specialists, Last Night of Freedom, are big fans of the city – it’s their second busiest destination – and are rounding up why you should choose Dublin for your hen do.

Nightlife - There’s only one word for dublin-nightlifenightlife in Dublin: legendary. The city has a rich history of pubs and bars, with tourists flocking from all over the globe to the epicentre – Temple Bar. This ‘strip’ of pubs is world-famous – home to Europe’s best live music pubs and oldest institutions. You may not get dazzling cocktails with a teeny tiny umbrella, but you’ll get the best pint of Guinness in the world. However, you can sample beautiful drinks in the capital’s most exclusive district, Grafton and Dawson Street. This extravagant area boasts high-end boutiques, rubbing shoulders with chic cocktail dens and A-list bars. Lillie’s Bordello is said to be a particular favourite of international celebs. As you walk up the winding Grafton Street – and past souvenir shops for those all-important gifts – you’ll reach the lively Harcourt/Wexford and Camden zones. Similar to the Temple Bar, this place is dedicated to live music and even cheaper drinks.

Activities - Our hen party dublin-activitiesactivities feature all of the Dublin requisites: cocktails and additional booze. This cosmopolitan, yet famously rowdy, city is busting with cocktail masterclasses at the likes of Lillie’s, Buskers on the Ball, Lemon & Duke and Bad Bobs. Of course, you’ve got to start traditional and visit the Guinness Storehouse to learn the history, as well as Jameson Whiskey for a unique tasting session. You can go even more exclusive with your celebrations with our private cinema experience. Bags of popcorn and your own cinema… perfect. And, for those up late – travel back to Dublin’s gory past on board the ghost bus.

dublin-shoppingShopping - Shopping in Dublin is a necessity to all good hen weekends. Luckily for you, Dublin boasts several excellent shopping districts, with huge centres thrown in for good measure. North of the Liffey, Jervis shopping centre sits pretty with a huge range of stores. However, the main shopping thoroughfare is the bustling Grafton Street. A beacon for all designer boutiques, high-street stores and independent retailers – it’s a hen do haven.dublin-music

Music - Forget Manchester, Dublin is the birthplace of live music. The Temple Bar is notorious for buskers and bands, with almost every pub hosting music sessions from lunch, ‘til the early hours. The biggest hosts include the likes of The Temple Bar, Oliver St John Gogarty’s and The Auld Dubliner. You’ve also got Whelan’s, set in Wexford Street, a big time tour venue that has seen the likes of Ed Sheeran grace the stage, and provided a backdrop to the film, PS I Love You.

dublin-beveragesBeverages - It goes without saying that Dublin’s streets flow with Guinness. The world’s most popular stout is part of the beating heart of the city, and there’s no place to better experience it than the Gravity Bar at the Storehouse. But, this city is in the midst of a cocktail revolution – with speakeasy bars and illustrious venues popping up in the centre. Bars such as Peruke & Periwig – lined with antiques and flickering candles – Vintage Cocktail Club, hidden behind a door with a bell to ring and enter, and The Liquor Rooms – one of the best venues in Ireland - are ideal settings for your Dublin hen weekend.
