5 top wedding styling trends for 2019

Due to the Coronavirus, we are now working from home, if you need to contact us urgently please email: emmah@euromedia-al.co.uk

Rachel Warren, head of creative at London’s leading catering company, Rocket, offers on-trend ideas for your wedding.

1. Bringing nature indoors:

Use our seasonal British plants with roots, fragrance and native beauty. From tangled foliage and fresh greenery to potted herbs incorporated with dried poppy heads, cotton branch, willow  – all these ingredients make for a gorgeous table centre or canape tray decoration. Pots can display geographic reference or personal designs / place names or table numbers. They can even be a favour for guests to replant in their garden for memories of their own happy day.

2. Personalisation:

When planning a Rocket wedding I take time to get to know the couple and understand their personalities so that we can tell their love story through the decoration. It is important to reflect the couple’s personalities in the finer details such as menu designs, flowers from special locations or to invoke memories with colour palettes, cutlery, charger plates, napkin rings, weaves and prints of table cloths, fragrance etc..

3. Colour:

When it comes to pantones and colour palettes, in 2019, do not be afraid to break the mould. Pantone ref. of the year ‘Living Coral’ is currently very popular but why not make a bold statement with teals, vivid greens, pinks and canary yellows! We have seen the beige, whites and pale pinks but this year, we need a more colourful swing!

4. Understated elegance:

Over the top floral arrangements are out this year. We are opting for more sustainable and subtle table centres – low florals are essential for maximum fun and conversations. I love to incorporate different shapes of low bud vases with a ‘jumping’ mis-match of seasonal and fragrant flowers. These look stunning on printed linen runners (use the reverse of the fabric) mixed with in-season foliage and herbs.

5. Let’s eat cake:

Couples are moving away from having one huge cake that likely goes uneaten. Instead our Head of Pastry creates wonders with dessert stalls. A beautifully designed patisserie boutique is guaranteed to WOW guests. Why not pair the mini desserts with a dessert cocktail to keep the party going?
