With as many as a third of all proposals happening during December, hundreds of couples across the country will be entering the new year with nuptials to plan.

To help budding brides and grooms organise their perfect day, Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel, in Morpeth, will be hosting a special festive Wedding Open Day on Sunday 12 January, showcasing its stunning wedding space, opulent suites and picturesque grounds.

As guests tour the facilities, they will be treated to a glass of Champagne and will be able to sample a selection of delicious dishes. Local wedding suppliers will also be on hand to discuss all the finer details and give them a glimpse into their special day.

John Forrester, general manager at Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel, said: “December is one of the most romantic times of the year for proposals, meaning hundreds of couples go into the new year with a wedding to plan. And with excitement rising, a lot of people don’t want to waste anytime planning the celebrations.

“From finding the perfect dress to sourcing the best photographers and florists, our specialist wedding team can help couples plan the perfect day, whether it is a lavish affair or an intimate ceremony.”Macdonald Linden Hall Hotel

Built in 1812, the original manor house has since been transformed into a stylish hotel. This magical venue, replete with ornate ceilings, roaring log fires and marble cherubs, boasts state-of-the-art spa facilities, a fitness centre, a cocktail bar, Dobson’s AA Rosette-award winning restaurant and a cozy gastro pub.

The 450-acre private estate is set in idyllic countryside with a championship 18-hole golf course and luxurious spa facilities. The manicured estate is home to 50 bedrooms and Northumberland’s largest hotel wedding suite with exclusive banqueting facilities complete with a separate entrance, providing a private atmosphere for weddings.

Situated just off the A1 and half an hour north of Newcastle, the secluded location feels a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. At the end of a tree-lined avenue lies an elegant mansion house, radiating charm and sophistication and providing the ideal backdrop for photographs.
